Lyrics

The Cubs they won their game
and I think that is really cool.
They played so hard and they
finally won that game with their wood.
They wacked that ball so hard
it really took off you know.
They ran the bases likewise
and soon they were on to home.

But Cubbies they frequently lose
even though they try their best.
We were surprised when they actually
won the title jest.
The Cubs they did win the game
though we were quite surprised.
They won it by a hair or more
but I don’t frankly spy.

I thought it would be interesting to write a baseball song
but I don’t know much about the sport so I just ramble on.
The sport it does contain bats and gloves of that I’m sure.
But I don’t know the composition of gloves or the wood.

I thought you might like to know that people often play the game.
And even more people they watch as others do the same.
I thought might be int’resting so I tried watching once.
I fell asleep at half time and then I fell off the couch.

I thought I would try again
but I drank too much that time.
I spent all my time in the bathroom
I guess there was a line.
That is how it goes when too many
people need to go.
They queue up and down the aisles
and put on, really, quite a show.
