I would like to pet a cat, pet it all the time.
And sing it a little song perhaps it could rhyme.

And I would like really to pet all of the cats.
But I don't have all the hands so I can do that.
Right now I just have two hands, that is where I'm at.
So I can only pet two little cats.

One day I may grow real big and real strong like that.
But I would still only have two hands for the cats.
Perhaps I might grow something quite like a nice hat
that could hold a big and strong, lovely cat.

Would you like to wear a cat perhaps on your hat?
They will be the fashion soon, be assured of that.
Snuggly cat hats are really where it will be at.
I think that I might like my lovely cat hat.

Cat hats they are really swell. Really they are that.
I would really like to wear my lovely cat hat.
It would allow me to carry so many cats.
That is why I want to make my lovely cat hat.
