When I brought the chandelier inside 
I thought it would be quite lovely. 
When I brought the chandelier inside, 
I thought it would be like a hanging candelabra. 
A hanging candelabra. 

And I worked, I worked to mount, mount it right. 
I worked, I worked to mount that chandelier. 
But I failed to notice the candles it used. 
I failed to notice until I was screwed. 
I thought I bought a nice bulk set. 
But I needed square not round. 

Those candles they just did not fit. 
And so I sit here in the dark. 
I have plenty of candles. 
I could light one, yes. 

But I worked so hard to mount that thing. 
And I think I could make them work. 
But they are just too big, it seems, 
so what shall I do? 

Should I change the chandelier 
or should I change this box of candles? 
What should I do? I'm sitting here in the dark. 
What should I do? 

Oh, I think I will take a nap 
and think about it in the morning, when the sun is out. 
Maybe, the answer will present itself. 
But for now, I will enjoy the dark.
